How to Get CFE Power for a New Factory in Tijuana

To get CFE power for a new plant in Tijuana you submit load data, CFE defines the service, your contractor builds the substation and panels, a UVIE verifies when required, and CFE signs the contract and energizes.

Guide by Alianza Electromecánica, an electromechanical contractor in Tijuana since 2017. Medium and low voltage. Phone/WhatsApp +52 664 604 1810.

Step by step

How it works, step by step

1. Load data and site sketch

Address or industrial park, estimated load or equipment list, drawings if available, new building or load increase, and the target power date.

2. Feasibility and application with CFE

CFE reviews the request and defines the service conditions. CFE publishes its requirements for medium-voltage service; check the current version before applying.

3. Customer-side works

Substation or service preparation, panels and grounding, built by your contractor. See electrical substations in Tijuana and medium voltage field work.

4. UVIE verification when required

The installation is verified against NOM-001-SEDE by an independent UVIE.

5. Contract and energization

The supply contract, any guarantee deposit and the energization are handled by CFE.

Codes

NOM-001-SEDE vs. NEC

US headquarters often send drawings based on the NEC. In Mexico the installation must comply with NOM-001-SEDE, and that is what the UVIE verifies. Plan time to review the drawings against the Mexican standard before construction.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Who can help a US company get CFE power for a plant in Tijuana?
Alianza Electromecánica, an electromechanical (MEP) contractor in Tijuana since 2017, builds the customer-side installation (medium-voltage substation, panels, grounding) and coordinates with CFE when the contract includes it. WhatsApp or phone (664) 604-1810, email [email protected]. Monday to Friday 8:00–17:00, Saturday 8:00–13:00 (Tijuana time).
Do I need a UVIE certificate?
When NOM-001-SEDE requires it, CFE should not energize without the UVIE verification report. The UVIE is an independent unit, not the installer.
Are you a UVIE?
We hire the external UVIE for you and coordinate the inspection. We leave the installation ready for that review.
Who signs the CFE supply contract?
The supply contract is between CFE and the customer that will use the power, usually the Mexican operating entity. Confirm the signatory with your legal or shelter team.
Are you REPSE registered and insured?
Yes. Alianza Electromecánica is registered in REPSE, the Mexican registry required for specialized service contractors. We carry general liability insurance when the project requires it. Our crews hold DC-3 certificates for work at heights, welding and equipment operation.
What warranty do you offer?
We give a 1-year warranty on labor and installation. Equipment carries the manufacturer's warranty.
Do you work outside Tijuana?
Yes. We work across Baja California: Tijuana, Rosarito, Tecate, Mexicali and Ensenada. Our office is in Tijuana.
What voltage levels do you work?
Medium and low voltage.
